Reasons Why Plants Are Living Things.

Plants are living things because:

1 They grow – Plants start small and grow bigger.

2 They need food and water – Plants make their own food using sunlight, water, and air.

3. They breathe – Plants take in air (carbon dioxide) and give out oxygen.

4. They move – Plants turn towards the sunlight and some flowers open and close.

5. They reproduce – Plants make seeds, and these seeds grow into new plants.

6. They respond to touch – Some plants close their leaves when you touch them (like mimosa).

7. They die – Just like other living things, plants can also die when they are not cared for.
